Hi guys, as you know – I am quite a busy mama, anything that can help me locate great books, quality book reviews, and book blogs gets a big high five from me. So I have decided to start a new community over on Google+, it’s free to join and members are encouraged to share their book related blog links, their book reviews and their brilliant book recommendations. I hope you join us!
*Sign up to become a tour host with ‘Reach for the Stars’ virtual blog tours.

Expect a big bang of explosive genius.

We’ll be co-coordinating virtual tours, book blasts, cover reveals and much more. We are committed to helping author shine and we need your expert hosting skills.
We need amazing bloggers (that’s you!) to join our team to support our virtual blog tours. We’ve done our research and we have contacted bloggers who we feel are professional at what they do. We’d be honored to have you as part of our host team too!
Why should you become a Tour Host?
- You’ll receive high quality content for your blog about book releases.

- You’ll win prizes just for taking part in a tour. Your loyal followers and/or yourself could win Amazon gift cards to treat yourself. Some authors even throw in goodie/swag bags. Nice!
- You will expand and increase their blogging connections.
- You will notice an increase in blog traffic.
- You can pick and choose which tours to take part in. There is no obligation to sign up! However, the more tours you sign up to the more traffic, free books and prizes.
- You just need to check your diary and then select a date to post from the scheduled tour dates. A selection of suitable slots are offered in plenty time so you have plenty time to post the content.
- You can enjoy even more exposure as I will promote your blog. Expect a link back to your blog.
- You will become the go-to blog for information on books!

I’m finally getting round to nominating bloggers this week. It is so incredibly hard to pick, so many amazing bloggers. If you don’t see your name – I’m sorry. I wish I could nominate about 1,200 people but I realise that would be a tad excessive.
As part of the conditions I, hereby, will display the award logo on my blog and link it back to my nominator. Tick, done! And I will gladly nominate 15 other bloggers and notify them. Yup, no worries.
Each person in this list offers something unique and inspirational to the world. Please take the time to check out these fascinating individuals. You won’t be disappointed. I think what you’ll love about these people is how they engage with all their readers and followers. It is not always easy to find people in the world who are positive forces, people who are willing to reach out and connect. I believe all of these people fit my description. Well done guys!
The following have made me smile, think more deeply, spurred on my own writing or made me laugh out loud; and so, apart from Helen who very kindly nominated me, I would like to nominate the following deserving blogs:
If I’ve missed you out this time, I am so sorry!
For the people who have been nominated – congratulations.
You now need to grab the award badge and post it to your blog. You also need to write a wee blog post explaining that you have been nominated for this award by me. Be sure to add my blog URL (http://alanamunroauthor.com/) so your followers can discover who thinks you are so amazing they just had to nominate you.
Have a think which bloggers inspire you and nominate some people too. Pass on the good karma!
Today, I would like to thank Helen over at http://musingsfromarandommind.wordpress.com/ for her kind award nomination. Helen, your recognition for my writing efforts means a lot to me. Thank you! I appreciate it.
I love the blogging community. I love how we support each other! I will nominate bloggers as soon as I can.
Have a beautiful day everyone!
I had to share this funny picture that Urvashi Vasishtha, a lovely member from my Support-a-Writer community made today. It sums up the fun we have, but also the community spirit! Be sure you join us. You won’t regret it.
This is what Urvashi had to say, ‘Just for fun.. I hope it conveys the meaning! Cheers to us! Cheers to the community! Cheers to +Alana Munro! :)’
*** Coming soon! I will be a blog tour host!
Come in, sit down. I’ll pour you some wine. Take your shoes off. Relax. Better? Good. Soon my blog will be open to writers, poets, creative souls who require exposure and want to shout louder about their work. I have lots of questions to ask you on your life and your work. I’d love to share your work and your thoughts with my readers. I won’t ask you the usual, boring questions. I want to find out about the person behind the craft and connect with you. If you have a published book, I’ll put up a synopsis all about your book, a picture of your cover and interview you. If you are not yet published but you write I can showcase your talent with examples of your work and of course interview you. We all need to gain exposure and why shouldn’t you be recognised for your talent?

I have been nominated for the Sunshine Award by fiction writer Vashti Quiroz-Vega, make sure you check out her amazing work – http://vashtiqvega.wordpress.com/. I am always pleased when another writer takes an interest in my projects. It is wonderful to get recognition from another writer. So a big high five to you Vashti!
Like all awards there are rules and they are listed below. *Post the sunshine award logo.
*Then nominate ten fellow bloggers you feel are worthy of this award. Announce their nomination on their blog. Plus, link a pingback to the nominator’s blog. Make sure you take the time to click and read the other nominees blogs. Make a connection with each other!
*Then of course there are questions to be answered. This is for you all to get to know a little more about me, and I look forward to seeing your responses as well.
Favourite colour? I have many. I really like aqua blue, yellow and green.
Favourite animal? Dogs! I have a puppy. I am forever amazed at her loyalty and affection. They are such amazing creatures.
Favourite number? 3 – because my birthday, my husband, my dog AND 2 of our kids birthdays are all on the 3rd! 3 is the magic number!
Favourite alcoholic drink? Red wine and to get the party started ‘Scottish style’ – rum with diet coke and ice.
Facebook or Twitter? I have never got into Twitter, but I keep trying as it is a useful tool for promoting my work. At one point I thought I would need to go into ‘Facebook rehab’ as I was becoming addicted! I have stepped back a lot. I am not enjoying it so much. I don’t think it is healthy. Social media can be very useful but it has its downsides. I think it is better to chat to people face to face – if possible. You know, really make a connection and look into a persons eyes.
My passions? My family, my writing, photography, discovering new books, shopping (I’m a woman!), travelling – I want to see as many new countries as possible!
Giving or receiving gifts? A bit of both. It is nice to treat someone you love. That’s a lovely feeling. It is also nice to receive something. I appreciate the thought.
Favourite city? Singapore – okay so it’s a state island but the city is amazing to walk around and so clean, safe. Love that place. I’ve been a few times now. The airport is amazing too. Their airport is calm and organised – it is insane how pleasing and easy everything is!
Favourite TV shows? Modern Family is amusing. I am not someone who has box sets of all the latest hit TV shows. I do collect movies though. I love 80′s movies. I recently watched Ghost Busters. Love it! Not very high brow, but hey we all need to relax the brain and just chill out.
