Hey everyone, the support group I run for writers, poets and bloggers over on Google+ is going great guns! I’m so pleased. The people who have joined are amazingly supportive and creative souls. You have to meet them all! I think I will need to ask someone to help me moderate soon.
Today is a wonderful day. The support group I run to help writers, bloggers and poets connect has went over the 100 members mark! Hip hip hooray! It has been a whirlwind 3 weeks since I started the group over in Google+.
We share our work – I have no issue whatsoever in writers sharing their work. I fully encourage it! Shameless self-promotion – you need to get your words out there. I get that. There is a page dedicated to showcasing talent and linking to your blog/website.
We come up with marketing ideas – I am always looking for creative ways to market my writing. We share whatever we think will help us reach our writing goals. I have a marketing and business degree – so I’d love to share my knowledge but I’d love your input too. What marketing and promotional tools work for you?
We connect – Writing is a lonely gig. We know we can jump into the group anytime. I am in Australia. There are people in America. We are all spread about the globe. No one understands the frustrations and passion we feel like another writer does!
We support – This is the biggest role our group plays. We are always respectful of one another’s work. We seek to build other writers up not bring them down. There are plenty of forums or blogs we can go to if we want to be criticized. Some people do want the cold hard truth. That’s sometimes necessary but that’s not my role to play. Our group aims to support and motivate each other to keep on writing, to keep improving and to keep chasing your dreams. I get how personal writing is. I understand how much sweat and tears can go into a writing project.
Join us today. You never know where it will lead or who you will meet!
