Author Interview: Cynthia Sax
What are you addicted to?
Cynthia Sax runs on Nutella. It is a jar of chocolate and hazelnut goodness. Add hunky cabana boys and we have a great start to a party!
Why do you write?
I write because I’m a writer. It is a part of me like my feet or my eyebrows. I have always written and I will always write. I publish because I want to share my stories with others and because publishing my stories allows me to spend more time writing.
Have you always enjoyed writing?
I love writing. I don’t always enjoy it, especially when I’m writing the dark moments. I’m putting my soul on the page and this can be savage and raw.
Tell us about your family?
I fell in love at first sight with my hubby over 20 wonderful years ago and I love him even more today. I didn’t believe in lasting love before I met him. I certainly didn’t believe in love at first sight. He’s the reason I write romance.
Tell us about your new book? What’s it about and why did you write it?
He Watches Me is an contemporary erotic romance following the unusual romance between Anna, a not-so-innocent-yet-virginal heroine, and Blaine, an enigmatic billionaire. Every night, Anna jumps her neighbour’s fence, takes off her clothes and swims naked in his pool. Every night, Blaine has been watching her. In the past, he’s watched her via his security cameras. Tonight, he plans to watch her from his poolside seat.
One night, I was looking enviously at the neighbour’s pool, the cool blue water tempting me to jump the fence. I began to wonder what would happen if I DID jump the fence.
How often do you write? And when do you write?
I write every single day, keeping business hours (nine to five) except I work Monday to Sunday. After business hours (five o’clock), I answer reader email (I LOVE reader email) and focus on marketing and promotion. The writing always comes first and I need a fresh brain for it.
If you could do any job in the world what would you do?
If I had a billion dollars, I’d still write. I love it. It is a part of who I am. I’d delegate cleaning the house though. (grins) That has to go! Ohhh… maybe I’d get the hunky Nutella-covered cabana boys to clean the house.
How do you think people perceive writers?
Most people think writers are nuts and most people are right. We invent imaginary people and give them imaginary problems. If that isn’t the definition of crazy, I don’t know what is.
What’s the reason for your life? Have you figured out your reason for being here yet?
My goal is to bring hope and optimism to ONE person. That’s why I write romance. Romance is all about love and hope and optimism. I love emails from readers sharing that I’ve made their days a bit happier, giving them strength to deal with the challenges in their lives
Do you know your neighbours?
Why are you asking this? (looks around me) Do you know something about them I don’t know? Are they not really putting a swimming pool in their backyard? Is that where they’re planning to bury the bodies?
I know a lot of things about my neighbours – both real and imaginary. That’s one of the great things about being a writer. I’ve never met boring people.
When you get free time on the internet or you go to the library – what do you want to read about?
(Blinks) Free time? What is this free time of which you speak? I read business books and romance novels (usually erotic romance novels – I like my romance hot, hot, hot!). I speed-read a romance novel. It keeps me sane and happy.
He Watches Me
She desires to be seen. He wants to watch.
Anna Sampson has a naughty secret. Every night, she slips into her neighbour’s yard and swims naked in his pool. She fantasizes that the dynamic young billionaire watches her nightly nude aquatics, his brilliant green eyes gleaming with lust.
She discovers this isn’t pure fantasy. Gabriel Blaine has been watching her via his security cameras, and now that he has returned to L.A., he doesn’t plan to stop. That’s all he wants—to watch. Anna knows she shouldn’t allow him and she certainly shouldn’t want more, but she craves Blaine’s attention, needing his gaze fixed on her body.
He Touches Me
His touch enflames her desires.
Anna Sampson has allowed billionaire businessman Gabriel Blaine to watch her, all of her. And looking is all he’s done—until now. After giving him permission to touch her, Anna realizes she won’t be satisfied until she has all of this handsome and secretive man.
Soon she tempts him, shreds his control, and pushes him too far. Blaine’s reluctance to take her virginity frustrates Anna. He fulfills her fantasy, but what is their reality together?
He Claims Me
A billionaire’s desires and a virgin’s wish to be claimed come together.
Two men want Anna Sampson. Gabriel Blaine is powerful, intelligent, the CEO of a successful company, and a billionaire. He’s watched her, touched her, encouraged her to become a strong, independent woman, a woman unafraid of her desires.
Now secrets from the past are exposed, threatening Anna’s freedom and safety. Will the man she loves stand by her side, or will he desert her, leaving Anna once again to face the future alone?
The searing climax of The Seen Trilogy.
